Ecological Responsiblity

At KLM we are committed to being eco-minded.  We believe that true sustainability goes beyond reducing impact but also actively improving our land and beautiful lakes around us.  We were excited to participate in Eco-fairs, share in education opportunities at the county fair,  support the family programs by donating our time to install a permeable paver system for water retention. 

Our stewardship goals focus on responsible resource management.  We support rainwater harvesting systems, permeable pavement to reduce run off and native plantings that support our ecosystem/biodiversity. Our design goals are aimed to help protect our waterways and minimize thermal shock to lakes, preserving their delicate ecology. 

We are embracing the innovative possibilities that robotic mowers bring by reducing emissions and noise pollution.  We have also extended our mission to our own operations by adding solar power to our buildings to reduce our carbon footprint.   We added native prairie to support our wildlife, improve water quality by filtering rain water before it recharges our groundwater systems,  prairies can also help replenish soil nutrients.
